Stone Statues of the Li Chengliang Family Tomb in Xiaotun, Tieling

The stone statues of the Li Chengliang family tomb in Xiaotun, Tieling, are a cultural relic protection unit of Liaoning Province.

The stone statues of the Li Chengliang family tomb are arranged in pairs of four, facing each other in opposite directions, with the central axis aligned east-west. Normally, the spirit way of an ancient tomb flanks the stone statues and runs north-south, but the spirit way here at Xiaotun runs east-west. This is because the cemetery was damaged in earlier years, and the current positions of the stone statues were all re-established after later restorations. These stone statues include: one pair each of crouching stone lions, lying stone sheep, kneeling stone horses, and standing civil and military statues (Wengzhong). The carvings are simple yet refined, exquisitely detailed, and strikingly lifelike. They are the only existing set of Ming Dynasty stone statues in northern Liaoning placed in front of a tomb, and also the sole surviving remnants of a Ming Dynasty official’s family tomb from Tieling.

Protected area: With the point at East Longitude 123°59′50.6″, North Latitude 42°11′16.5″ where the protection marker is located as the base, the protected zone extends 50 meters east, 5 meters south, 150 meters west, and 47 meters north.

Construction control zone: A secondary construction control zone within 50 meters outside the protected area.
