Taizicheng Mountain Fortress

Taizicheng Mountain Fortress is a cultural heritage site protected by Liaoning Province.

Taizicheng Mountain Fortress is located north of Taizicheng Village, Xiajiuhe Township, Xinbin County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. A tributary of the Taizi River — the North Taizi River — flows westward along the northern side of the fortress, while the East and South Xiajiuhe Rivers meander around the eastern and southern sides before converging with the North Taizi River at the northeast corner of the fortress. The southern wall of the fortress sits directly above today’s Taizicheng Village. To the west, the fortress connects with the undulating mountain range, facing the main peak, Laomuzhugang, and is situated at the terminus of this mountain chain. At the junction between the fortress and the mountain range lies a low, sunken mountain ridge, now traversed north to south by the highway connecting Xinbin County and Majiazi Town.

Xiajiuhe Township: A township under the jurisdiction of Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County. Established as Xiajiuhe Commune in 1961 and restructured as a township in 1983. It is located in the southwestern part of the county, covering an area of 166 square kilometers with a population of 11,000. The Taizi River flows through the township. The Tieling–Changdianzi Highway passes through the area. The township administers 18 village committees: Xiajiuhe, Xiajiuhe Xian, Gangdong, Shuanghe, Zhijia, Malugou, Xiaojiuhe, Pinghe, Taizicheng, Dabei, Qianyanzhifang, Houyanzhifang, Pianlaha, Gufoyu, Henan, Songshu, Fengmigou, and Shuangtaizi.
