Changchun Fitness Park

Changchun Fitness Park is situated under the Changchun Bridge in the Wanliu area by the Kunyu River in Haidian District, Beijing. With a total area of 106,000 square meters, the park boasts more than 16,000 trees and shrubs, along with 40,000 square meters of lawn. It offers a variety of sports and fitness facilities, including 4 tennis courts, 1 full-size basketball court, 4 half-court basketball courts, fitness zones, and a children’s activity area—providing suitable options for people of all ages. The entire park is shaded by lush greenery and carpeted with rolling lawns, where “nature” and “sports” coexist harmoniously, integrating recreational activities into the natural landscape. The fitness park was opened to the public free of charge on October 1, 2007, and has since received widespread praise from local residents.

Changchun Fitness Park is one of the construction projects of the Kunyu River Waterfront Scenic Corridor. This corridor stretches 10 kilometers from Bayi Lake in the south to the Ruyi Gate of the Summer Palace in the north, with a planned green space of about 130 hectares. It includes the development of “one river, two roads, four interchanges, and five parks.” “One river” refers to the Kunyu River; “two roads” are the roads along both banks of the Lanidianchang South Road; “four interchanges” are the bridges at Bali Zhuang, Che Dao Gou, Changchun, and Huo Qi Ying; “five parks” are the Bagou Mountain-Water Garden, Changchun Fitness Park, Lu Xun Cultural Park, Jinyuan Entertainment Park, and Linglong Park. Once completed, the riverside will showcase a picturesque scene with willows and peach blossoms, deep green shades blocking out the sun, continuous stretches of silver maple in autumn, and touches of green on leafy branches in all seasons. The illuminated bridges will add a dazzling glow that complements the natural scenery.
