Elegant Museum

The Elegant Museum in Jinzhou City is the only private paleontological fossil exhibition hall in China. The exhibits mainly feature fossils from the Mesozoic Jurassic period in western Liaoning, dating back 140 million years. These collections were gathered over many years by Mr. Du Wenyu and include hundreds of rare fossil treasures.

The collections include fossils of reptiles that thrived on Earth during the Mesozoic era, such as turtles, prosauropods, and the small dinosaur Psittacosaurus; there are also fish, amphibians, insects, and plant fossils; as well as world-renowned national treasure-level specimens — the Duan’s Confucius Bird fossil, along with exquisite Cambrian trilobite fossils from southern China; Devonian ostracoderm fossils, Jurassic dinosaur egg fossils, and more, all of which hold extremely high scientific research and ornamental value.
