The Chishan Scenic Area in Gaizhou is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Chishan Scenic Area is located to the east of Wanfu Town in Gaizhou City, at the junction of Luotun Township and Kuangdonggou Township. It is 40 kilometers from Gaizhou City and 75 kilometers from Yingkou City. Covering an area of over 20 square kilometers, it has been one of the famous mountains in eastern Liaoning since the early Tang Dynasty and a renowned Taoist mountain in southern Liaoning during the Qing Dynasty. Chishan is known for its unique peaks, extraordinary caves, clear springs, peculiar rocks, and ancient temples.

The five peaks of Chishan are Sanqing Peak, Wudong Peak, Xuamen Peak, Tianqiao Peak, and Tianchi Peak. Among them, Sanqing Peak is the highest, with an elevation of 891.1 meters. The rocky caves of Chishan include the Immortal Cave, Piercing Cave, Back-Shadow Cave, Chaoyang Cave, and Moon Cave. Attractions such as the Dalian Pavilion, Pearl Pavilion, Clipper Pavilion, Xuamen Pavilion, as well as the Triple Waterfall, Bead-Playing Waterfall, and Cautious Slope Waterfall, are like sparkling jewels scattered across Chishan, adorning it with a magical and beautiful charm. The remarkable craftsmanship of nature has sculpted numerous bizarre rocks all over Chishan, including over 20 notable formations such as the Golden Toad Emerging from Water, Sparrow Gazing at the Sky, Monkey King Worshiping Mother, Guanyin Delivering a Child, Shennong Tasting Herbs, Immortal’s Boots, and Sheep Crossing the Ridge. At the foot of the main peak lie the renowned Longtan Ancient Temple and a cluster of stupas nestled among lush pines and cypresses. The Goguryeo Mountain Fortress, Great Heavenly Bridge, and Small Heavenly Bridge are built along the mountain, offering thrilling and perilous views.

The vegetation of Chishan mainly consists of mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forests, including over 20 types of plants such as Pinus tabuliformis and Fraxinus mandshurica. In spring, the mountain bursts with blooming flowers; in summer, it is shrouded in mist; in autumn, it is covered in red foliage; and in winter, it is blanketed in silvery white—offering ever-changing scenery.
