Peach Blossom Garden

Both the Peach Blossom Garden and the Lilac Garden form a complete ornamental plant area, yet they are divided into relatively independent spaces.

The garden design employs a technique of large-scale open woodland with lawns, featuring a spacious central lawn surrounded by gently undulating terrain. In the open woodland arrangement, key tree species such as Chinese pine, London plane, weeping willow, and white poplar are planted, while adjacent trees include birch, littleleaf linden, and cedar either in clusters or as standalone specimens. Among the larger trees and along the garden pathways, groups or clusters of peach blossoms or lilacs are planted — ranging from as few as seven or eight to as many as twenty or thirty, totaling over a thousand plants.

After mid-April, when the lilacs and peach blossoms are in full bloom, the Peach Blossom Garden becomes a major viewing spot for peach blossoms during the Beijing Peach Blossom Festival.
