The site of the Hexagonal Pagoda at Shanzui is a cultural relic protection unit of Yingkou City.

The site of the Hexagonal Pagoda at Shanzui is located in Shanzui Village, Xutun Town, Gaizhou City. The base of the pagoda covers an area of approximately 24 meters from north to south and 15 meters from east to west, totaling about 360 square meters. In front of the pagoda site stands a headless stone Buddha statue, along with a broken stele top and a headless stele base. The remaining height of the pagoda foundation is about 5 meters. A large number of stone pagoda components can also be found on the opposite riverbank. Based on the architectural form of the pagoda and the decorative patterns of its components, the pagoda has been identified as a Liao Dynasty structure. It serves as an outstanding specimen of ancient architecture in Gaizhou City, possessing historical, artistic, and scientific value. It is also a physical reference for the study of Liao Dynasty pagodas in the region.

In 2012, the Yingkou Municipal People's Government (Ying Zheng [2012] No. 173) designated the site of the Hexagonal Pagoda at Shanzui as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit. The cultural relic protection scope and construction control zone announced by the Yingkou Municipal People's Government (Ying Zheng [2013] No. 185) are as follows: with the center of the site of the Hexagonal Pagoda at Shanzui as the base point, an area extending 15 meters outward in all directions is designated as the protected area; an additional 15-meter zone extending east, west, south, and north beyond the protected area is designated as a Category II construction control zone.
