Baduhe Black Locust Mountain Site

The Baduhe Black Locust Mountain Site is a cultural relic protection unit designated by Yingkou City.

The Baduhe Black Locust Mountain Site is located on the eastern slope terrace of Black Locust Mountain, about 460 meters south of Baduhe Village, Yangyun Town, Gaizhou City.

The site stretches approximately 50 meters from north to south and 40 meters from east to west, covering an area of about 2,000 square meters. Pottery shards from the Neolithic period made of sandy gray clay and sandy reddish-brown clay have been found in the soil layers. According to local villagers, such pottery fragments are often unearthed when digging holes for fruit trees. A few years ago, stone tools such as polished stone knives and axes were also discovered at this site. The rich array of artifacts reflects historical characteristics of the Neolithic Age, making the site of significant archaeological and historical value in the region. It provides important evidence for studying human activities during the Neolithic period in this area.

In 2012, the Yingkou Municipal People's Government (Ying Zheng [2012] No. 173) designated the Baduhe Black Locust Mountain Site as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit. The cultural relic protection scope and construction control zone announced by the Yingkou Municipal People's Government (Ying Zheng [2013] No. 185) are as follows: with the center point of the Baduhe Black Locust Mountain Site as the base, the protected area extends 120 meters east and west, and 200 meters north and south; the Class II construction control zone extends 100 meters east, west, south, and north beyond the protected area.
