Liaohe Green Water Bay is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Liaohe Green Water Bay is located in Shangkouzi Village, Xi’an Town at the eastern end of Dawan County, covering an area of over 100 acres. It was initially built in the spring of 2003 with an investment of more than 4 million yuan by the Lan brothers, who are native to this area. On this fertile black soil, apart from a red office building, no traces of modernity can be found. The estate is dotted with simply designed Korean-style thatched cottages, classic Manchu blue-brick houses, and ruggedly styled Mongolian yurts, all arranged in a charming layout that reflects the architectural styles and ambiance of various ethnic groups.

In the southern part of Liaohe Green Water Bay lies a fishing area. Small rice paddies for crab farming are interspersed throughout; a log-style small arched bridge, resembling the kind of belt farmers used to wear in the old days, divides the pond into eastern and western sections. Visitors can enjoy fishing here to their heart’s content in spring, summer, and autumn, and go ice-skating for fun in winter. To the north lies a vast expanse of emerald-green rice fields, where the estate and farmland blend seamlessly as one, making you feel as if you’re right in a farmer’s home. A large greenhouse covering over 2,500 square meters is located in the eastern part of Liaohe Green Water Bay. Its most wonderful feature is that it allows for day-and-night fishing even in winter. Here, it brings a touch of spring to the cold and desolate northern winter, creating the first example of winter fishing in the Crane Homeland. On the western side of the greenhouse, there are several rooms equipped with beds, stoves, and other daily necessities, where visitors can take a break at any time, cook delicious meals using the fresh fish and crabs they’ve caught, enjoy wine and tea, and have fun with mahjong and cards. Staying here feels warm and cheerful.

All the open spaces within the entire Liaohe Green Water Bay estate are divided into plots of various sizes by “V”-shaped branch fences, forming garden fields that maintain the natural shape of local rural farmland. Scattered jujube trees and rows of South fruit pears and other fruit trees have finished blooming and are now bearing fruit. In front of the houses are traditional large soybean paste jars and farm tools such as shovels, picks, hoes, sickles, and rakes that were commonly used by farmers in the old days. Along the pathways, wooden sticks are used to build frames over which bean, gourd, and loofah vines climb, providing long shaded awnings. The garden is filled with common rural vegetables such as scallions, cucumbers, chili peppers, and eggplants. Entering this estate, you’ll truly find it teeming with fish and crabs in the ponds, fruits and melons on the trellises, and vegetables in the gardens—perfect for both viewing and for visitors to catch, pick, or harvest...

The mother river of Liaoning—the great Liaohe River—is just a dike away from Liaohe Green Water Bay. To allow visitors to fully appreciate the beauty of the mother river, a water sightseeing tour along the Liaohe River has been launched, which is still a first in the Liaohe River system to date. Sturdy and beautiful inflatable rafts and white yachts will take you into the rapids of the Liaohe River, where you can experience the thrilling yet safe adventure of the “First Rafting Trip on the Hundred-Mile Liaohe.” A visit to the Liaohe River scenery is not complete without stopping by Xiaolin Island. It is the largest and the only island in the entire Liaohe River basin, also known as the “Flying Island,” and in recent years referred to as the “Linked Island.” It is a pearl inlaid in the emerald necklace of the beautiful Liaohe River landscape, crafted and shaped by the skillful hands of the mother Liaohe. Originally connected to the land of Shangkouzi Village, with the narrowest connection being only 500 meters, it belonged to a production team of Shangkouzi Village. On August 8, 1960, during a massive flood of the Liaohe River, the water level rose to 5.88 meters with a flow rate of 6,000 cubic meters per second, instantly breaking the connecting land. The riverbed shifted, turning it into the main channel of the Liaohe River, and thus the approximately 3-square-kilometer area, with over a thousand acres of farmland and reed fields, became the “river center island” known as Xiaolinzi.

The folk customs of Liaohe Green Water Bay are simple and genuine.
