Tanghe Lake

Covering an area of 60.5 square kilometers and located 54 kilometers from downtown Liaoyang, Tanghe Lake Scenic Area derives its name from the Tanghe Reservoir. It is now a provincial scenic spot in Liaoning Province and consists of Erdaogou, Longshan Mountain, and the Tanghe Reservoir.

The scenic area boasts steep peaks and cliffs mirrored in the water, and offers a distinctive ecological tourism destination ideal for sightseeing, leisure vacations, sports & adventure, and specialty dining — all thanks to its unique mountain landscapes, water views, caves, rare birds, exotic pines, as well as attractions like the Tanghe Reservoir Dam and power station.

The water in Tanghe River is crystal clear, meeting China’s Grade II drinking water standards, and is the only unpolluted drinking water source among reservoirs in Liaoning Province. The Tanghe Reservoir is home to 8 million fish, with over 100 tons caught annually. The fish are tender and healthy, sustainably farmed, making for delicious "Tanghe Fresh Fish."

Take a cruise boat and glide slowly through the landscape of mountains and water. At every turn, you’ll be greeted by the breathtaking sight of “autumn waters blending seamlessly into the boundless sky, while setting sun and solitary egrets fly together,” allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the tranquil joy of “floating side by side on flower-fringed waters and climbing bamboo-surrounded hills together in straw sandals.”
