The Caoling Scenic Area in Gukeng is home to many spectacular ruins, featuring ten famous scenic spots known across Taiwan — including Penglai Waterfall, Cliff of Spring and Autumn, Steep Cliff Majesty, Shuilion Cave, Frog Rock, Marvelous Cave, Soul-Striking Valley, Concentric Waterfalls, String-of-Pearls Pools, and Qingxi Amusement Park. The Shibi Community, the highest and most remote area in Yunlin, was historically focused on the camphor industry — producing camphor oil from camphor trees — resulting in rich forest resources and scenic beauty. A must-visit in Shibi is the “Five Yuan Two Jiao” Green Corridor, where you can admire unique thatched pavilions, bamboo groves reminiscent of Kyoto’s Arashiyama, and sea of clouds over crisscrossing mountain ranges.
