Showcasing the Diversity of Travelers: Yan Zuoyi Shoots Three Global Taiwan Tourism Promotion Films

The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications released three brand-new promotional films on the 6th of this month, focusing ontransit,、cycling,,andcruise travel, producing films around these three key themes to give international travelers who pass through Taiwan the opportunity to discover the island's charm.

Liu Xilin, Deputy Director of the Tourism Bureau, stated: "These films highlight the adventure and journeys of cyclists traversing Taiwan’s cities and towns, as well as the appeal of Taiwan’s cruise offerings, directly showcasing the island’s unique geographical location and local characteristics. They cater to the cruise preferences of both Eastern and Western travelers, delivering an extraordinary and surprising experience to global cruise passengers. Taiwan’s well-developed network of cycling routes,including the upcoming completion of the Taiwan Cycle Route No. 1 this year,along with the Taiwan Cycling Festival series—now the nation’s second-largest annual event after the Taiwan Lantern Festival—demonstrate Taiwan’s vibrant tourism offerings."

About the Director – Yan Zuoyi
The three themed films were directed by Taiwanese director Yan Zuoyi. Since 1998, he has worked as a producer and art director, becoming an advertising director in 2005 when he founded his own production company, Sunny Day Entertainment. To date, he has directed over 200 commercials and short films, with clients including Nissan, Chunghwa Telecom, KFC, 7-Eleven, Giant, Samsung, and more. His works have won numerous awards.His film style is diverse, with lively and vivid techniques, and his visual artistry carries strong impact.。

Director Yan shared that taking on the Tourism Bureau’s filming project was a highly challenging task, mainly because the three themes varied greatly in tone. Each required completely different structures, visuals, and music, yet all needed to present a unified image of Taiwan’s tourism appeal. He noted that completing these three films to his satisfaction was no small feat, and he believes the visuals will inspire international travelers to visit Taiwan.

As part of its goal to become a top global tourism destination, the Tourism Bureau will continue using film marketing to promote Taiwan’s unique appeal. In addition to uploading the three new themed films to the Bureau’s official YouTube channel, arrangements have been made to broadcast them starting in October on major networks such as CNN in the United States, SKY News in Canada, and Bloomberg in the United Kingdom, as well as their associated websites, to further attract international visitors to Taiwan.
