The three new high-speed rail stations in Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin will officially open on December 1. The architectural designs of the new stations are not only distinctive but also deeply rooted in eco-friendly concepts and emphasize green building principles. The construction of these new stations will not only benefit local residents' commuting and travels back home but will also drive the development of surrounding transportation infrastructure and environmental improvements.Taiwan High Speed Rail has announced that each of the three new stations is expected to host shops selling local time-honored specialty products, allowing travelers to purchase local souvenirs right at the station—how exciting!

Miaoli Station: Belly Button Pastry, Pastries Made with Strawberries from Dahu
The architecture of the new Miaoli Station is unique, featuring a simple geometric metal frame that conveys a lightweight and minimalist façade, symbolizing the simple spirit of the Hakka people. It also includes solar panels, making it a green building. Shops selling local specialties such as belly button pastry and pastries made with strawberries from Dahu are also expected to be located within the station.

Changhua Station: Beef Tongue Pastry and Preserved Fruits
As a major hub for flower production, Changhua has incorporated greenery into the design of the station building. The outdoor landscape features floral arrangements, nurseries, water features, and planted pathways, while the lobby showcases plant-petal-shaped wall pillars and flower-inspired skylights on the roof, creating a lush, green atmosphere. Among the anticipated shop tenants is Changhua’s beef tongue pastry and preserved fruits, which are great souvenir options.

Yunlin Station: Handmade Soy Sauce and Novelty Towels

Located in Huwei Township, the new Yunlin Station features a building design inspired by the flowing forms of the characters “Yun” (cloud) and “Lin” (forest), with dynamic, streamlined steel structures complemented by glass curtain walls—making it an energy-efficient solar-powered building. Local specialties such as handmade soy sauce and novelty towels from Yunlin are also expected to be available for travelers to purchase inside the station.
