Come samba in the streets of Taipei!

Throw a carnival right in the heart of Taipei!This year’s “Dream Carnival” marks its 14th edition,with the Brazilian Rio Carnival as the parade’s central theme.

Brazilian artists were invited to design the floats and samba costumes, and Brazilian singers and drummers will perform live on the moving floats, bringing a lively and authentically Brazilian street party to the city.

The Rio Carnival is one of Brazil’s most important festive events, known for its extravagant and eye-catching floats and costumes. As Taiwan’s leading promoter of samba carnival celebrations, the 2015 Dream Carnival naturally brought in numerous samba dancers dressed in dazzling attire to sway passionately. Their dynamic dance moves are sure to be the highlight of the event. Additionally, a float designed in the image of Brazil’s national bird—the blue-and-yellow macaw—featured Brazilian singers performing onboard, creating the carnival’s most electrifying moment.

Event time: Starts at 3 PM on October 17
Parade route:
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall → Zhongshan South Road → Ren’ai Road → Turnaround at Linsen South Road intersection → Ren’ai Road → Ketagalan Boulevard (final stop)

● Ketagalan Boulevard (Park Road–Zhongshan South Road) control:
From 00:00 to 12:00 on Saturday, October 17, the middle 8 lanes will be closed; from 12:00 to 03:00 on Sunday, October 18, all 10 lanes will be closed.

● From 14:30 to 18:00 on Saturday, October 17, the following parade route sections will be under traffic control: "Zhongshan South Road (Roosevelt Road–Changde Street), Jinguang Gate, Xinyi Road (Jinguang Gate–Linsen South Road), Ren’ai Road (Jinguang Gate–Linsen South Road)." The parade route will reopen after 18:00.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid congestion. "East–west alternatives: Civic Boulevard, Heping East (West) Road; north–south alternatives: Chongqing South Road, Zhonghua Road, Hangzhou South Road."
It is recommended to take the MRT to Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall Station, Exit 5, to reach the event venue.
