Highlight alert: 19 must-try food stalls at Shilin Night Market, endorsed by the government

Wondering where to find the best eats in Shilin Night Market? As a highly recommended destination for both domestic and international tourists, the Shilin Night Market area has long been a favorite spot for leisure and shopping. It’s arguably the most economically vibrant and distinctive commercial zone among Taipei’s many markets. However, with thousands of shops and stalls, many visitors often don’t know where to start when it comes to food and shopping.

To this end, the Taipei City Government’s Department of Market Supervision launched an initiative to identify the most representative and iconic food businesses in Shilin Night Market.They specially initiated a “Shining Stores” selection program for the Shilin Night Market district.The goal is to provide the highest quality consumer experience, allowing the general public and tourists to discover a fresh new side of the Shilin Night Market district.

According to the Department of Market Supervision,this selection program divided participating businesses into three major categories: “Gourmet Food,” “Daily Necessities,” and “Creative Services.”Experts and scholars were invited to serve as judges, who conducted document reviews and on-site inspections.Based on five key criteria—“Safe Consumption,” “Hygiene and Environment,” “Service Quality,” “Unique Features,” and “Marketing and Promotion”—they selected 40 standout stores to ensure consumers can shop with confidence and dine with peace of mind.
