Japan’s hottest specialty fruit cake shop – the strawberry chocolate tart is absolutely eye-catching

The fruit cake specialty shop arrow tree from Kobe also has a branch at Hankyu. I’ve heard that when arrow tree first came to Taiwan, the quality was quite good, but after the renovation, there seemed to be some decline in quality. Since we’re already in Japan, we might as well go straight to the Japanese branch.

Arrow tree’s branches in Japan are mostly located in the Kansai region. This time we visited the one near Shijo Karasuma. In addition to a café offering cakes for dine-in, there’s also a fruit sales section.

The prices are slightly higher than those of regular cake shops, but the portions and ingredients are very generous.

One advantage of coming early is the wider selection of cakes—many flavors sell out if you come too late.

I chose a strawberry chocolate tart I’d been wanting to try in Taiwan and a freshly squeezed juice.

The chocolate tart was topped with sweet King strawberries—just the visuals were satisfying enough. Even without the strawberries, the bottom layer of the chocolate tart performed quite well. The slightly bittersweet chocolate was incredibly enjoyable, paired with the fresh, juicy strawberries, making for an unforgettable fruit tart.

Although it costs 990 yen per slice, it’s definitely worth it.
