The multi-layered colors of the ocean in Okinawa, with their rich and soft hues, are a major draw for travelers. In addition to beach activities, there is also a fantastic vantage point to admire the beautiful sea — “Chinen Cape Park,” located southeast of Naha, offers sweeping views of the colorful seascape.

The character “Cape” (岬) refers to a protruding landform surrounded by sea on three sides. Chinen Cape is a natural landscape formed along the shoreline, and the park is built atop this cape. Standing in the park, feel the Okinawan sea breeze on your skin, gaze at the bubble-like light blue ocean before you, and spot Kume Island — known as the “Island of the Gods” — in the distance. Though it sees fewer visitors, it's an essential spot not to be missed for sea viewing.
