Taoyuan Airport issues 100,000 food vouchers; first Thai cuisine and freshly baked PIZZA debut

Taiwan’s most internationally recognized cuisines have once again been highlighted—recently, CNN selected 40 must-try Taiwanese street foods, over 20 of which can be enjoyed right at Taiwan’s gateway, Taoyuan International Airport.

Taoyuan Airport has been tirelessly promoting Taiwanese cuisine and is holding its third consecutive “Local Delicacies Promotion” this year. In celebration of the airport company’s fifth anniversary, from October 31 to November 6, all airport restaurants will distribute NT$50 cash vouchers daily, with one voucher per person. The vouchers can be used on-site at all airport restaurants, the Shin Dong Yang shop in Terminal 1, and the souvenir shops on the 1st and 2nd floors of Terminal 2 for direct discounts. Additionally, on November 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, an “Airport Food Bloom” tasting event will take place at sampling spots both inside and outside the restricted areas of Terminals 1 and 2. The tasty offerings include Hakka gua bao, bubble tea, pineapple cakes, taro cakes, braised pork rice, traditional-style braised pork chop rice, fried wontons, fried food platters, purple rice eight-treasure porridge, assorted braised snacks, and more—allowing domestic and international travelers to enjoy Taiwan’s local specialties together.

In the second half of the year, Taoyuan International Airport has also introduced new dining options, including three brand-new restaurants at Gate D7 of Terminal 2. Among them, Thai cuisine and Italian freshly baked PIZZA are new culinary choices never before seen at the airport. Additionally, D7 Bar is a popular Western-style bar among foreign travelers, offering light meals and a variety of cocktails, complemented by cozy sofas and a fireplace. Its elegant space provides an ideal environment for travelers to relax and comfortably enjoy their time before boarding.

In addition, the well-known pineapple cake brand “Wei Re Shan Qiu” has launched a queue-free specialty store in the souvenir street of Terminal 2. The Australian coffee chain “Gloria Jean’s Coffees” has also set up shop in the dining area on the 4th floor of the non-restricted departure hall in Terminal 2. Meanwhile, the B1 food court in Terminal 1 has welcomed the new opening of the bakery brand “Yi Zhi Xuan.” A wide variety of gourmet experiences await at Taoyuan International Airport, catering to the diverse tastes of every traveler.
