“Purple Glazed Light” Cloud Sea Drunkenly Spills Over the Mountain Slopes – Jiayi’s Most Beautiful Hidden Spot Revealed

A netizen surnamed Liu recently shared a series of landscape photos of Jiayi County and City on a Facebook group. The expansive views, combined with the sea of clouds and sunset glow, resembled a beautiful traditional Chinese painting, leaving many amazed. Many asked where these “hidden spots” were. It turns outthese spectacular scenes are from the Xikeng Er Yanning Trail and Dingshizhao Trail in Alishan Scenic Area.

The photographer behind the photos is Liu, the administrator of the Facebook group “The Beauty of Jiayi.” In an interview with ETtoday EBC News Cloud, he revealed that he has been taking landscape photos for three to four years. He often explores various corners of Jiayi County and City with a group of amateur photography enthusiasts, capturing these scenic views and sharing them online to promote his hometown’s beauty to more people.

“We go many times, and there will always be one time when we’re lucky enough to capture great photos.”Mr. Liu said that cloud sea scenery doesn’t appear every day. You have to choose the right date and time based on satellite cloud maps and weather reports. To capture good shots, they often scout the shooting locations in advance and patiently wait for the clouds to appear.Sometimes it takes up to one or two hours to take photos with different focal lengths and compositions.He also said, “I hope more local photographers or lovers of Jiayi’s scenery can join the effort to document these views.”

It is understood thatXikeng, with an altitude of about 1,250 meters, is a small village located halfway up Alishan.As the road winds up the mountain, airflow from the upper reaches of the Bazhang River and the Zengwen River converges here, creating a unique cloud waterfall landscape. It is a popular spot for photography enthusiasts to capture sunsets and misty scenes. Meanwhile,the Dingshizhao Trail is located at the 63.5K mark on the Alishan Highway.It climbs along the tea plantation at varying altitudes, dotted with farmhouses, offering breathtaking views. Whether it’s sunny or rainy, the scenery is uniquely beautiful, making it another highly popular photography spot on the Alishan Highway.
