The richest cross-strait travel fair in history – Score free plane tickets too

Echoing the 2015 Taipei International Travel Fair, one of the major cross-strait travel events—the Taipei Cross-Strait Travel Fair—will also take place at Hall 1 of the Taipei World Trade Center from November 6 to 9. Entering its 10th edition this year, the Taipei Cross-Strait Travel Fair will break away from past exhibition formats by introducing its first-ever grand prize draw, giving away over 300 prizes. There will also be more performances and ticket discounts than ever before. China Eastern Airlines, participating for the first time, will offer cross-strait flight tickets for just NT$999, while Air China is offering a 30% discount on all flights departing from Taiwan.

A total of 66 exhibitors and 367 booths will participate in this year’s Taipei Cross-Strait Travel Fair. Regions including Fujian, Shandong, Shaanxi, and Anhui will set up pavilions in Taiwan. Unlike previous years, which were mostly exhibition-based, this year will feature more on-site promotions, giveaways, and prize draws. Visitors with tickets can enter to win prizes such as a 5-day Beijing couple’s free-and-easy trip or mainland China flight tickets.

Additionally, over six performance groups will take turns performing on the main stage, including acts by the Hohhot National Song and Dance Theatre from Inner Mongolia and Fujian song and dance shows. There will also be four folk artists showcasing traditional crafts such as clay sculpture, fruit pit carving, and calligraphy and painting art, treating visitors to a visual feast.

Among mainland Chinese travel agencies, Cola is offering a 4-day Xiamen tour package for NT$5,988, Southeast is featuring a special deal on a 4-day Henan tour for NT$9,800, and E Travel Net has a 3-day Shanghai free-and-easy package for NT$7,500. China Eastern Airlines will hold three discounted ticket events daily, with cross-strait routes and connecting flights to Japan and South Korea starting from just NT$999. Air China is launching a “0 NT” air ticket promotion, with a 30% discount on all Taiwan transit flights to third countries, enabling travelers to not only visit mainland China but also extend their journeys to other destinations.
