Hokkaido Airline AirDo Comes to Taiwan – First Charter Flight from Kaohsiung to Eastern Hokkaido

Japan’s Hokkaido International Airlines (AirDo) has launched charter flights between Kaohsiung and eastern Hokkaido, and specially offered two round-trip flights between November 19 and 24, flying directly from eastern Hokkaido (Memanbetsu and Kushiro airports) to Kaohsiung. The first charter flight brought over 100 Japanese tourists, and the Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau especially arranged the city’s tourism ambassador “Kaohsiung Bear” to warmly welcome them in the airport arrival hall.

AirDo Airlines is headquartered in Sapporo, Hokkaido, and mainly operates domestic flights within Japan. This charter flight marks the airline’s second international charter route. Currently, four flights in total—two round trips—are being offered: from eastern Hokkaido to Kaohsiung on November 19 and 24, and from Kaohsiung to eastern Hokkaido on November 20 and 23.

AirDo Airlines President Takanori Tani said that this flight connects eastern Hokkaido (Memanbetsu and Kushiro) with Kaohsiung via a direct route, aiming to enable travelers from eastern Hokkaido to fly directly to Taiwan from nearby airports.
