Closed for a year of renovation ! Tainan Anping Deji Foreign Firm “returns to the scene”

The Tainan municipal historic site “Former British-owned Deji Foreign Firm” was closed for a year of renovation,and reopened on the 29th,This time, it commissioned the National Museum of Taiwan History and other organizations to curate the exhibition, refocusing on the theme of “foreign firm trade” and recreating Anping’s trading history through new-era exhibition methods. It also features multiple lively and fun interactive game spaces, such as the currently popular escape room games.

The Tainan City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau pointed out,this curation uses the concept of “opening the time capsule of Anping” to recreate the historical trading scene of old Anping,mainly showcasing Dutch artifacts from the 17th-century Age of Exploration. Using a reverse chronological approach, it recreates Anping’s trading history with new-era exhibition methods, and introduces the origins of the foreign firm, shipping routes, and trade models through systematic zone-based explanations, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the history of Tainan and Anping.

In addition, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has specially launched the “Anping Safe Travel GO ! Short-Term Tourism Revitalization Plan,” collaborating with over a hundred unique shops in Anping to hold the “Spend 100, Get Free Historic Site Tour” campaign. During the campaign period from November 21 to December 31, 2015, customers who spend 100 NT dollars at any participating store will receive one free admission ticket to important cultural heritage sites in Anping, such as Anping Fort, Anping Tree House, and Yide Fortress.
