High-Speed Rail Stations in Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin to Open in December — Full Guide to Shuttle Bus Services

The three new high-speed rail stations in Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin will officially open on December 1st. The construction of these new stations not only benefits the daily commuting and travel needs of local residents but also promotes the development of surrounding transportation infrastructure and the environment. To accommodate the opening of these HSR stations,the respective county governments have planned bus shuttle and express services as follows, aiming to provide more convenient transportation options for locals and travelers alike.

Miaoli
The Miaoli County Government has planned the following bus transportation services:
(1) Five existing routes operated by Miaoli Bus have been adjusted to include stops at the Miaoli HSR Station. These routes are 5803, 5807, 5808, 5814, and 5816. Route maps and timetables can be found on the Miaoli Bus Co., Ltd. website.
(2) An express bus service connecting to the Miaoli HSR Station has been planned. The route is “Zhunan Science Park – Miaoli HSR Station – Shei-Pa National Park Administration Office,” with a total of 25 stops. There are three types of routes: “101 Zhunan Science Park to Shei-Pa Office,” “101A Zhunan Science Park to HSR Station,” and “101B Shei-Pa Office to HSR Station.”

Fare: Free rides when boarding or alighting at the HSR Station; other stops are charged based on distance traveled.

2. Changhua
The Changhua County Government has planned the following seamless bus connection services:
(1) Eight existing intercity bus routes have been extended or rerouted to serve the Changhua HSR Station, operating a total of 120 trips per day.
(2) A free express bus service began operations on November 30th, stopping at nine locations including Yuanlin Transfer Station, Tianwei Highway Garden, Changhua HSR Station, and Taiwan Railway’s Tianzhong Station.
(3) The existing urban bus route No. 6 was extended as of November 30th to the Changhua HSR Station, stopping at key tourist spots such as Lukang, Yuanlin, Tianwei, and the HSR Station.
(4) Future planned routes: Two new urban bus lines will be launched, covering Tianzhong–Beidou–Xizhou and Tianzhong–Ershui. Additional transit routes to Nantou tourist destinations such as Xitou and Sun Moon Lake are also planned.

Changhua Free Express Bus
Route: Stops include Yuanlin Transfer Station, Tianwei Highway Garden, Changhua HSR Station, and Taiwan Railway’s Tianzhong Station among nine total locations.
Fare: Free rides when boarding or alighting at the HSR Station; other stops are charged based on distance traveled.

3. Yunlin
The HSR-connected express bus service has commenced operations in tandem with the opening of the new station. This express route utilizes six electric buses operated by Yunlin Bus, departing from the Yunlin HSR Station and passing key locations such as the National Taiwan University Hospital Huwei Branch, Dingxi, Huxi, Douliu Railway Station, the County Government, and finally arriving at National Yuntech University. The route primarily connects political, commercial, tourist, educational, and railway hubs, offering convenience for HSR passengers traveling to Yunlin for business, government affairs, or sightseeing.

High-speed rail shuttle bus
Route: High-Speed Rail Yunlin Station ~ Yunlin University of Science and Technology
Fare: Free for those boarding from or alighting at the high-speed rail station; regular passengers pay the standard bus fare — NT$20 for a one-section full fare ticket, NT$40 for a two-section full fare ticket.
Operating hours: 06:00–23:00, with 30 one-way trips per day.
