Welcome the first rays of dawn at high altitude! China Airlines' Dawn Flight to Hong Kong & Macau goes on sale Dec 3

As 2015 draws to a close, are you ready to ring in 2016? China Airlines Group is launching the “Happy Dawn Flight,” which will take passengers to greet Taiwan’s first light of the New Year from high above. According to China Airlines,the Dawn Flight will be operated using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with a limited number of 158 seats available for sale. Tickets go on sale promptly at 8 AM on December 3rd.

China Airlines’ “Happy Dawn Flight” was met with an enthusiastic response last year, becoming a new way for people to celebrate the New Year. This year, it is launching the “2016 Happy Dawn Flight,” which will depart from Taoyuan Airport at 05:20 on January 1, 2016, arriving at 30,000 feet over Yilan at 05:45. The flight will then head south along the coast, allowing passengers to be among the first in Taiwan to welcome the first light of 2016.It is expected to reach Hualien seaside at 06:18, offering the earliest and highest sunrise view in Taiwan.During the flight, passengers can also enjoy breathtaking views of various landscapes, experiencing “Taiwan from above.” The plane will then fly to Hong Kong, where passengers will transfer to exclusive jetfoils to continue on to Macau, enjoying an exciting two-day tour of both destinations.

In addition to being among the first to witness Taiwan’s highest sunrise and enjoying a New Year’s energy breakfast on board, passengers on the Happy Dawn Flight will also receivethoughtfully prepared commemorative gifts, including a unique flight certificate, a CI2016 model airplane, a gold-branded champagne bottle, and a mini China Airlines tote bag.The Hong Kong Tourism Board and Macau Tourism Board will also provide gifts such as luggage straps, baggage tags, and cultural and creative coasters. China Airlines has also arranged a special surprise — an exclusive performance onboard by a gondolier (Gondola) singer for the first time, serenading passengers with clear melodies as they await the dawn and welcome the new year together.

China Airlines’ “2016 Happy Dawn Flight” offers different package combinations. Economy class single tickets start at NT$19,999, double tickets at NT$28,999, and triple tickets at NT$45,999 (all prices include taxes). Passengers wishing to book the “2016 Happy Dawn Flight” should call China Airlines’ customer service center at 412-9000 (add 02 for mobiles) at 8 AM on December 3rd,where staff will assist with seat reservations.

Additionally,Mandarin Airlines will operate two Dawn Special Flights from Taipei to Taitung on New Year’s Day 2016, alongside a scheduled flight from Kaohsiung to Hualien, using 104-seat E190 aircraft. The flights are expected to take off at 6 AM, allowing passengers to greet the first rays of the New Year from high above.Reservations for Mandarin Airlines flights will open at 12 PM on December 10 via the airline’s website and customer service center. The round-trip fare for Taipei–Taitung is NT$4,606, and for Kaohsiung–Hualien is NT$4,340. China Airlines Group will donate over NT$1 million in ticket revenue to support disadvantaged groups in Hualien and Taitung, enabling the Dawn Special Flights to spread love and usher in a more meaningful 2016.
