Largest in the Northeast China Region ! Xiaoyan Well Galaxy Farm’s Dreamy Cosmic Tunnel with 1.24 Million Lights

The “Galaxy Farm Night” at Xiaoyan Well Farm, created with a variety of lantern themes, officially launched at Xiaoyan Well Farm in Japan from November 21 to January 3, 2016. To mark the 124th anniversary of Xiaoyan Well Farm's founding this year, a total of 1.24 million colored bulbs were installed, along with the design of three new lighting installations. The brilliant and colorful lanterns have transformed Xiaoyan Well Farm into a sparkling galaxy farm.

“Galaxy Farm Night” is a major autumn and winter event at Xiaoyan Well Farm and also the largest lantern festival in the Tohoku region. This edition of the event is now in its third year and has grown more spectacular each year. To showcase local characteristics, the staff personally design various themed light displays based on elements within the farm. Lanterns made using farm buildings, a steam locomotive, and a 20-meter-tall Christmas tree are all features that are hard to find elsewhere.

This year’s Galaxy Farm Night features a total of 11 themed installations. Among them, the most iconic is the 20-meter-tall green Christmas tree, which this year features a different color scheme from previous years, shining even more brilliantly in the night. At the entrance, a new light display featuring Mount Iwate in the background and themed around the famous single-tree cherry blossom has also been added. The preserved steam locomotive at Xiaoyan Well Farm has also been newly decorated with lights. In addition to emitting glowing “white smoke,” it is accompanied by the sounds of whistles and train movements, becoming a dream-bearing Galaxy SL in the darkness.

In addition to the new installations, there is also a 40-meter-long cosmic starry sky tunnel made of LED lights, as well as a romantic Christmas tree perfect for couple photos. For those who love small animals, the farm also has a Light Zoo, where adorable sheep and deer are sure to elicit cries of “kawaii!” from visitors.

According to the farm management, the first snow of the year has already fallen at Xiaoyan Well Farm since November 23. Once the Galaxy Farm Night officially enters the snowy season, the interplay of lights and white snow will become even more beautiful. For this event, the farm has also launched a series of merchandise and promotional activities, allowing visitors to enjoy a unique light festival.
