Nighttime light sculpture photos revealed: Pingtung’s “Shanchuan Glass Bridge” is outrageously romantic

The most stunning skyline in Pingtung’s mountains — the “Shanchuan Glass Bridge” is set to open on December 26th. But recently, a breathtaking nighttime light sculpture photo was leaked early online. At night, when the bridge lights up, it creates a magical beam of light that’s simply astonishing, with romance levels off the charts.

Spanning 262 meters and suspended about 45 meters above the ground, the “Shanchuan Glass Bridge” is located downstream from the old bridge, connecting Sandi Village in Sandimen Township with Beiyeh Village in Maolin Township. The bridge links two mountaintops, offering a sweeping view of majestic mountain landscapes below — hence the name Shanchuan Glass Bridge.

The Shanchuan Glass Bridge itself is a beautiful piece of art that showcases traditional indigenous culture. Designed by local master artist Sakuliu Pavavaljung, it features glass bead motifs representing the Paiwan and Rukai tribes. Glass installation artworks are embedded on both sides of the bridge, along with 24 storyboards depicting touching tribal tales. Coupled with light sculpture art, visitors walking across the bridge feel as if they’re strolling through a corridor of stories.
