Last updated 2026-09-26 — This time, after receiving a PR invitation, I realized that HSRK Kitchen has actually been open for a year. The scene of hard-to-get reservations a year ago is still vivid in my memory. The PR said it's relatively easier to book on weekdays (just a bit), but weekends still require early reservations. On the day of my visit— a regular weekday evening—it was almost fully booked. I think it's really difficult for a restaurant to sustain itself long-term without solid quality.

This time, after receiving a PR invitation, I realized that HSRK Kitchen has actually been open for a year.

I hadn't been here for a while since having visited two to three times since the end of last year. The main reason I wanted to come back this time was because our company’s Nangang office is nearby, and it’s also convenient for me coming from Xizhi. It’s actually quite suitable for both group meals and entertaining clients. That’s why I had wanted to come before, but every time I tried to make a last-minute reservation, there were no available seats. Of course, I’ve also been extremely busy this year, so I ended up ignoring the idea of coming here.<。

When I first received an invitation from HSRK Kitchen’s PR team, I was genuinely happy (it seems my previous articles weren’t nonsense XD). It was rare not to have to struggle to get a reservation (got teased about it), and I heard they had new dishes. A few new colleagues also really wanted to come. This experience felt great, and I immediately decided to bring my department here for a group meal another day.

The HSR Group is also a well-established name, always putting a lot of care into their cuisine. For example:HSR Alice,Thai Like,HSR Le Méridienare all restaurants that Little Rabbit personally really likes. My previous impression of HSRK Kitchen was also quite good. The restaurant has always paid close attention to customer feedback. This time, some dishes have been adjusted, and the family area now has “Kitchen Sisters” helping take care of kids, along with added children’s activities—making it more attuned to public needs.

The menu has added several new items, including Cantonese-style Peking duck, mini sashimi rice bowls, grilled whole salmon with salt, pork belly, as well as a seafood platter that boldly features crabs (blue crab or other crabs from the northern coast). Just these few main dishes offer great value, and both the quality and taste are quite good—which makes me feel the restaurant is very sincere.

My earliest impression of HSR was their Hong Kong-style dim sum. Cantonese-style Peking duck has always been one of the group’s signature dishes. But roast duck is most afraid of getting cold, oily meat turning tough, or the skin losing crispiness—serving it at a buffet is actually quite challenging.

But HSRK Kitchen’s Cantonese-style Peking duck performs quite well. For a duck lover like me, the overall texture remains quite good: crispy skin and tender meat. The impressive part is that even after it cools down, the skin still maintains a certain level of crispness, and the meat remains tender.

As for the cold seafood platter, besides the usual shrimp and mussels, they’ve added more crabs due to the abundance from the northern coast. On this day, it was blue crab—the type may vary—but it was piled up generously for everyone to enjoy, which felt very generous. Just saving the cost of traveling all the way to Wanli for expensive crabs makes it worth it.

Another item that felt really generous to Little Rabbit was the salt-grilled whole salmon. A whole salmon is served daily—it’s quite a showstopper. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived, it had mostly been taken, and I didn’t get a chance to photograph the full version (please refer to the official photos). But the salmon was genuinely delicious.

The Japanese sashimi and sushi bar now includes not only the usual sashimi and nigiri, but also mentaiko tuna grilled nigiri and the mini sashimi rice bowl—which Little Rabbit really liked this time.

A small bowl lets you enjoy salmon, tuna, salmon roe, and shrimp roe. That way, you won’t eat too much but can still satisfy your cravings. But if you eat 10 bowls, you’ll definitely be too full to walk—so please eat in moderation, everyone.

I used to have an average impression of their steaks, but this time I found them surprisingly tender and tasty. They’ve switched to (grilled) American beef shoulder blade, which is really good, and the cooking was well-controlled.

There’s another item Little Rabbit would especially recommend: HSRK Kitchen’s danzai noodles. The pork lard is really fragrant, and the flavor is very close to that of Tainan-style danzai noodles. I originally wanted to share a bowl with a friend because I was afraid of getting too full—but I ended up quietly finishing the entire bowl myself (covering face).

Now, the danzai noodles come with more main ingredient options, as well as added slices of meat and fish. There are more choices and a heartier meal. But beware—if you accidentally finish the whole bowl like me, you really will be too stuffed… (runs away).

With over 70 dessert options, HSRK Kitchen has always been strong in this area, and it still performs excellently. The desserts are abundant, visually appealing, and delicious, and the selection often changes. This time, the unique curry mille-feuille cake left a deep impression on me. Homemade tofu pudding, matcha pumpkin pudding, and macarons in various flavors—all delicious. There were also black macarons for Halloween, showing the chef’s attentiveness.

This time, being invited to experience the new dishes at HSRK Kitchen, I could clearly feel the difference compared to the end of last year. The new main dishes and updated cuisine made the overall offering feel even more worthwhile, and the flavors remained consistently good. The environment goes without saying—I’ve always thought HSRK Kitchen is quite suitable for group meals. The current price is 880 TWD + 10% service charge (there were meal vouchers offered during a previous travel fair, so keep an eye out). But in Taipei, the food and atmosphere are considered to be of relatively refined, high-mid quality.

I personally don’t really like some of those budget all-you-can-eat buffet places (just my own feeling)—a lot of them are total minefields, XD. I’d rather spend an extra 100–200 yuan to eat at Han She Le Chu, or even go straight for a five-star hotel in the 1,000-plus yuan range. If your budget allows, I’d recommend everyone to check out Han She Le Chu—just remember to book in advance!
