As we approach 2016, how do you plan to ring in the New Year? From December 31 to January 1, 2016, the Tourism Authority of Thailand will host vibrant New Year’s Eve celebrations in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. In central Bangkok, you can even enjoy spectacular fireworks displays！

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has announced thatBangkok’s 2016 New Year’s Eve countdown event will take place from December 31, 2015 to January 1, 2016, at the intersection of Ratchaprasong, Phloen Chit, and Pathum Wan roads in central Bangkok, where visitors can join the countdown at Siam Paragon and Amarin Plaza. Additionally, Ratchaprasong Road will be adorned with beautiful festive lights and colorful decorations throughout the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

Moreover, over 50 temples in Bangkok will hold Buddhist blessings to send off the old year and welcome the new one. Visitors can attend bell-ringing ceremonies to greet the New Year. These include Wat That Thong in Bang Kapi District, Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen in Phasi Charoen District, and Wat Saket (the Golden Mount) in Pom Prap Sattru Phai District, among others.

Chiang Mai’s 2016 New Year’s Eve countdown event will be held at Tha Phae Gate, with joyful Christmas and New Year holiday decorations lining the entire Tha Phae Road from December 25 to 31, 2015.
