Recently, if you take Seoul Subway Line 3, you might notice a row of orange hearts quietly appearing on the cabin floor. This is part of Seoul's newly launched "LOUD" campaign, which hopes to awaken public awareness of etiquette and civic-mindedness when using public transportation.

Even in Taiwan, have you ever encountered the following annoyance when taking the MRT or bus: in a row of seats, someone sitting next to you spreads their legs too wide, squeezing your own seating space and leaving you curled up, silently wishing they’d just bring their legs together. The same thing sometimes happens when taking the subway in Seoul. Therefore, through the "LOUD" campaign, orange hearts are painted on the floor to remind passengers to keep their feet within the hearts—ensuring every rider has a comfortable space.

Beyond just transit etiquette, the "LOUD" campaign also features other adorable reminders to encourage public environmental courtesy—such as drawing lines and dividers on the ground to remind queuers to leave pathways for pedestrians, or advising subway riders to hold their backpacks close. Cute "look left, look right" road eyes also remind pedestrians to watch for oncoming traffic. These warm and endearing reminders and designs are gradually spreading across Seoul’s urban areas.
