238 seconds！2016 Taipei 101 fireworks display sets record as longest ever with eco-themed show

Taipei 101 unveiled its 2016 New Year's Eve fireworks animation on the 16th. This year’s fireworks music blends Eastern and Western cultures,with a total duration of 238 seconds and 30,000 fireworks launched, making it the longest Taipei 101 fireworks show in history.

Taipei 101 stated that this year’s fireworks show is in collaboration with Gameone Technology BungBungame, with the theme “Nature is Future — Returning to Simplicity and Embracing Nature.” Through the fireworks display, it aims to showcase Taiwan to the world and let international friends understand that Taiwan is a country rich in diverse natural ecology, with high mountains and oceans, helping more people get to know this land better.

This year’s fireworks show marks the fourth collaboration between the French fireworks team Groupe F and Taipei 101, with a total duration of 238 seconds and 30,000 fireworks launched. To break away from previous fireworks presentation styles, the methods have been innovated again, using

The fireworks this year were air-freighted from Spain to Taiwan, featuring low-smoke, cool-light properties and excellent color saturation;To match the theme, patterns such as flowers, birds, trees, and aquatic creatures have also been designed, marking the highest number of graphics in the show’s history.Taipei 101 also stated that the total carbon emissions generated by this year’s fireworks display are approximately 9,707 kilograms. In fulfillment of environmental responsibilities, from January 1 to January 8, the building’s exterior lighting (excluding the top communication tower lights) will be turned off, which is expected to save 10,327 kilograms of carbon emissions, offsetting the emissions caused by this fireworks show.
