As 2016 approaches, the Tainan City Government has specially organized the “New Year’s Eve Trilogy,” including watching the sunset at Beimen Yantian Salt Fields on December 31, a New Year’s Eve gala, and greeting the sunrise at Er Liao on January 1 along with a hiking event at Hutoupi Reservoir to celebrate New Year’s Day—keeping the festive spirit going from afternoon till dawn.

Part 1: Sunset at the Salt Fields
The sunset at Jingzijiao Tile-pan Salt Fields in Beimen typically occurs around 5:24 PM.

Part 2: Tainan Xinshidai New Year’s Eve Gala
The New Year’s Eve gala features hosts Hu Gu, Janet, Hao Jiao Xiang Qi, Xie Xin, and GINO, as well as performances by popular singers such as Winnie Hsin, MP Magic Power, Bii Shu-Jen, Li Yu-Xi, Chen Yan-Yun, Da Mouth, Hsu Fu-Kai, Guo Ting-Yun, Jia Jia, Annie Yi, Fish Leong, Show Lo, Wilber Pan, Popu Lady, and Wu Siong Ensemble, among others, joining everyone to welcome 2016.

1. Exit at Taibao Interchange on Provincial Highway 86 → Turn left onto Zhongzheng South Road → Head to Guiren 8th Road → Use public/private parking lots or park along the roadside east of Guiren Boulevard

Trio of Events: Guali Welcoming the First Dawn, Hutoupi New Year’s Day Hiking Activity
Visitors can first enjoy a performance by the Ten Drums Art Troupe at the Guali Sunrise Viewing Platform, then welcome the first ray of sunlight in 2016 together at 6:40 AM. After that, head to Hutoupi for the flag-raising ceremony at 7:30 AM and the lakeside hiking and lucky draw event at 8:00 AM. Due to traffic and terrain constraints at the Guali sunrise viewing area, and to ensure the quality of visitors’ experience, traffic control and a total visitor cap of 3,000 people will be implemented this year. Pre-booked tickets are required to manage the number of hikers.
