La la la~ Just look at this abundant spread, you know it’s time to share some delicious brunch!! As soon as I posted this photo on our fan page this morning, it caused quite a stir, with friends even messaging me directly for details. Looks like there are quite a few foodies gathering at mimi’s place too XD Haha, enough chit-chat, let me briefly introduce this newly opened 《95 Café》 in Anping, Tainan~

The 《95 Café》, which just started trial operations on the 12th, is right next to Eslite Bookstore in Anping, located on the first floor of the same building, near the direction of Ciji Elementary School. Aside from a few flags at the entrance, there’s no other prominent signage, so it feels like a rather secluded spot. Since it opens at 9 AM and closes at 5 PM, they simply named it 95 Café – pretty straightforward @@”

mimi really likes the space inside the café – it’s spacious, brightly lit, and the tables are spaced out nicely. Even when it’s about 80% full later on, it doesn’t feel crowded at all. No need to line up for now, making the dining experience quite relaxing.

Near the entrance, there are also various ingredients used by the café on display. If you like, you can buy them too. The toast on the shelves is freshly made daily, using Japanese neon toast flour with a higher wheat content, and the French KUSMI TEA is also great – I fell in love with it after trying it once in Kaohsiung.

This style seems to be quite popular lately – it’s a self-service setup. You help yourself to food, get utensils, pour your own water, and remember to return your tray to the designated area after eating. To mimi, this small effort is no big deal, especially since no service charge is applied.

Utensils, seasonings, and drinking water are all on the shelves, available for you to take as needed. There are also small baskets on the lower level for placing your bags on the floor~

After ordering, the staff will give you this little device that beeps when your meal is ready. You’ll then go pick up your food yourself.

There are 12 brunch options to choose from, and the menu is quite clearly labeled. Be sure to check the side dishes as each main dish comes with different pairings. The menu also lists the high-end equipment and premium ingredients used in the café, such as Italian supercar-grade coffee machines, French Kusmi, Japanese Showa neon toast flour, Isigny AOC butter, Alba truffle house… all well-known international brands.

The brunch comes with soup but no drink, which needs to be ordered separately. The café offers coffee, tea, juice, beer, French Kusmi tea… etc. If you order a brunch set, you can get a 50 NT discount on drinks.

Time to grab breakfast Up!! I feel like the main dishes are probably made to order rather than reheated, and there aren’t many mass-produced ham, bacon, or sausage items. There’s plenty of fresh vegetables – very good.

I added a hazelnut latte and a Kusmi Earl Grey milk tea. The latte was alright, but I actually prefer the Kusmi tea because the aroma is really fantastic. There’s also fresh milk and honey on the side so you can adjust the richness and sweetness of the milk tea to your taste.

Country Bacon & Cheese Cast Iron Baked Eggs (220 NT) – this is the most basic brunch option. One characteristic of their brunches is that there’s a lot of salad on the cast iron pan, often covering the main dish underneath. Remember to eat your veggies first – that’s the key to staying healthy XD

There’s a poached egg on top – quickly slice it open to let the yolk out~

The bottom layer of baked eggs is hearty and generous in portion. It has onions, potatoes, and cheese, and the texture is quite tasty. However, Colin mentioned that the seasoning is a bit light, so he sprinkled on some extra salt. But honestly, taste preferences vary from person to person~

Each brunch comes with a whole slice of toast. This might seem familiar XD The café uses Japanese Showa neon toast flour to make it, with higher protein and wheat nutrition. It’s paired with Isigny AOC butter, made from the finest fresh milk in Normandy, France.

My Thai Curry Cast Iron Mixed Grill (350 NT) – besides the soup and bread, this one also comes with black sugar nut yogurt, making the whole plate look even more lavish. But the price is a bit higher too @@”

C? Not sure when I was secretly photographed, but I was super focused on digging into my Thai Cast Iron Mixed Grill!!

Beneath a generous pile of salad lies a Thai-style seafood curry with rich layers of flavor. Don’t think it’s weird to have curry for breakfast – it’s pretty common in Southeast Asian countries. I got squid, oysters, clams, king oyster mushrooms, beetroot, tomatoes… it’s quite a feast, and the flavors are well balanced. To me, this was the best dish of the day XD

It’s tangy and appetizing, and the sauce goes great with veggies or dipped into bread!!

The black sugar nut yogurt is also homemade by the café, not too sour – no deductions here.

My friend’s 《Norwegian Smoked Salmon, Bell Pepper & Cheese Omelet Roll》 (the name is so long…) – 260 NT. In the middle is an omelet roll filled with bell peppers, cheese, and other ingredients, topped with a whole piece of bright orange smoked salmon. This combo is pretty unique~

Seeing this dish reminded me of ones I’ve had before where the salmon is wrapped inside – half-cooked and a bit weird. But the chef at 95 Café puts the salmon on the outside, which fits mimi’s taste better. Still, I preferred the Thai curry dish today~

When leaving, I snapped a photo of another table’s set – probably pork knuckle, but what caught my eye… was the French grilled escargot on the side!! What a luxurious and special combo – seems really good. I’ve decided to try that next time@@”

A quick share on 《95 Café》 – friends who enjoy brunch might want to compare options Up~
