Exterior design of Danhai Light Rail carriages revealed: blue streamlined look themed around the sea

The exterior design of the first light rail in northern Taiwan, the “Danhai Light Rail,” has been revealed. Recently selected through an online vote, the sharp-edged “Warrior” model was chosen. The carriages will feature a streamlined design and be themed around the “sea,” highlighting the coastal characteristics of the light rail.

The light rail interior uses blue as its main theme, featuring aqua-blue ripple-patterned seats, coupled with large observation windows for enjoying sea views and well-designed accessibility features. To tackle the route that traverses both coastal and mountainous areas, the carriages have enhanced anti-corrosion capabilities and improved climbing ability, ensuring a safe and comfortable ride for passengers.

▲ It is expected that the public will have the chance to experience the Danhai Light Rail carriages firsthand in November this year.

The “Danhai Light Rail” is expected to allow the public to experience the interior of the carriages in November, with full operation commencing by the end of 2018. Those eager to see the light rail up close will need to wait a little longer.
