Taiwan’s first-ever “New Taipei City Railway Marathon Relay,” upon opening registration, saw all slots snapped up instantly. At the request of runners and to ensure track safety and the highest service quality,the New Taipei City Government has decided to open an additional 100 slots, with registration starting at noon on January 14—those wanting to join the marathon should seize the opportunity！

The “New Taipei City Railway Marathon Relay” will kick off on April 17 in the Shuangxi and Gongliao areas, marking Taiwan’s first running event that combines trains and culture. The route circles around four stations — Mudan, Fulong, Shuangxi, and Gongliao — with the half-marathon course running parallel to the railway, giving runners the chance to race alongside TRA trains. Local long-established restaurants and shops will also arrange exclusive runner banquets before and after the event, allowing participants to enjoy a feast while sampling local delicacies.

Additionally,runners will receive an exclusive “limited edition” finisher’s gift created by international design guru Xiao Qingyang,including motivational towels, a reproduction of the early “signboard sleeve” and “signboard ring” relay tokens, and running shirts in a train-themed gray-blue functional fabric. Participants will also get a free themed EasyCard, making the event highly sought-after.

The race format is a seven-person relay with varying leg distances — 3 km, 6 km, and 11 km — to accommodate runners with different needs and team compositions.
