The Teddy Bear Exhibition Taipei Edition Kicks Off Today – Exclusive “General Chiang Bears” Debut at Shilin Official Residence

The “2015 Happy Bear Urban Carnival” has arrived in Taipei and is now on display at Shilin Official Residence starting today. This morning, many visitors came to explore the exhibition. In addition to the 100 teddy bears originally shown in Taichung, the Taipei edition features General Chiang and Madame Chiang bears exclusive to Taipei, as well as teddy bears crafted from floral and plant arrangements.

This is the first time the Teddy Bear Exhibition has come to Taipei. Similar to the goal in Taichung to revitalize Taichung Park, the aim here is to encourage more people to visit Shilin Official Residence through the teddy bear exhibition. Upon entering, you can see a 7-meter-tall inflatable teddy bear. As you walk along the trails of Shilin Official Residence, teddy bears are displayed on both sides. Even though the exhibition only opened at 8 a.m., it has already attracted many visitors.

Highlights of the Taipei edition of the “2015 Happy Bear Urban Carnival” include the General Chiang and Madame Chiang teddy bears located in front of General Chiang’s official residence, dressed in period attire. There are also two teddy bears made using flowers and plants. Lin Yaoren, chairman of the Teddy Bear Association, said he hopes that through the combination with floral elements, visitors can not only enjoy the bears but also take a relaxing stroll through the official residence grounds.

Event Description
Take a photo of any “Happy Bear Urban Carnival” bear and upload it to the event page. Each participant may submit multiple entries, but only one entry can be selected as a winner.

Selection Method
70% based on “online popularity” (number of likes on the event page), 30% internal staff selection.
The top 15 winners will receive a pair of teddy bear slippers. Selected photos may be featured on the homepage of ETtoday Eastern Travel Cloud and the ETtoday Travel Cloud Facebook page. The 15 winners will be announced on the award notice on February 1st. Winners must send their real name and contact information via private message to the ETtoday Travel Cloud Facebook page by February 29th (inclusive). Failure to provide the required information by the deadline will be considered as forfeiting the prize.
