As winter turns to spring, it’s the perfect time for cherry blossoms to bloom. In the northern region, there are 9 cherry blossom viewing spots recommended for travelers. Some areas have already started blooming early, while others are still in bud. Ready to be surrounded by this pink happiness? Take notes and head out for a cherry blossom adventure!

1. Taipei Yangmingshan – Lanes 42 and 93, Pingjing Street
The popular cherry blossom spot on Lane 42, Pingjing Street in Yangmingshan, which usually blooms around mid-January each year, has already seen some blossoms recently. Along the He Feng Farm cherry blossom trail nearby, about 50% of the cherry blossoms have bloomed. If you want to avoid the crowds, the creek banks on both sides in Lane 93 of Pingjing Street are also surrounded by about a hundred cherry blossom trees.

2. Taipei – Fuxing 3rd Road Cherry Blossom Tunnel in Beitou
The cherry blossoms on Fuxing 3rd Road bloom from early to mid-February. The cherry blossom tunnel is not only beautiful during the day but also offers a unique charm at night.

33. New Taipei – Huayuan Xincheng
Huayuan Xincheng is a well-known upscale residential community in Xindian. Its landscaping and scenery live up to its “garden” name. Along the sloped road leading to the community entrance, there is a row of beautiful Yoshino cherry trees that typically bloom around mid-February.

4. New Taipei – Tenglong Yuying
Tenglong Yuying in New Taipei City was originally a bamboo forest, later replanted with cherry blossoms. With about 20 different varieties of cherry trees, the blooming season lasts from the end of January to mid-March.

5. New Taipei Wuji Tianyuan Temple
Tianyuan Temple, not far from Tamsui City, sees its nearby cherry blossoms bloom from late February to the end of March every year. Just take the MRT to Hongshulin or Tamsui Station on the Tamsui Line, then transfer to a bus to reach Tianyuan Temple for cherry blossom viewing.

6. Taoyuan En’ai Farm　
Located on a high mountain, En’ai Farm has a small but carefully cultivated cherry blossom grove with over 300 trees planted by the farm owner. The blooming season runs from February 20 to March 20.

7. Taoyuan Lalashan
There really is a “Sakuragi Hanamichi”! Near Zhongbalin Church on the Cherry Tree Road (Taoyuan Route 116) of Lalashan in Taoyuan, pink cherry blossoms are in full bloom, creating the illusion of entering a cherry blossom tunnel. The blooming season is approximately early to mid-February.

8. Hsinchu Park (Glass Art Museum)
One of the closest cherry blossom viewing spots to the city center, Hsinchu Park, is expected to see its cherry blossoms in full bloom in mid-to-early February. Along the park paths, cherry trees form a blooming tunnel, including varieties such as Kawazu-zakura and Fuji cherry, giving visitors the feeling of being in Japan!

9. Miaoli Liantai Mountain Miaoyin Jingyuan
Liantai Mountain Miaoyin Jingyuan, located on a Miaoli mountain, sees its cherry blossoms bloom around mid-to-late February. If you’re lucky, you may also get to see the beautiful sea of clouds.
