Last updated 2026-09-24 — On Thursday evening at 8 PM, E and I came to Minsheng Community looking for food. E suddenly said they wanted stir-fried rice, which reminded K of Minsheng Stir-Fried Rice. However, last time we had the beef stir-fried rice, it didn’t quite suit K’s taste because K doesn’t like shrimp paste XD. But the texture of the stir-fried rice was actually quite good, so we decided to bring E here to try it, and K got to sample another flavor.

On Thursday evening at 8 PM, E and I came to Minsheng Community looking for food.

Actually, K also forgot what time they close, but luckily they were still open when we arrived. However, some flavors were sold out. E chose the mixed vegetable stir-fried rice, while K went with the char siu (barbecued pork) stir-fried rice.

Mixed Vegetable Stir-Fried Rice (NT$90), Char Siu Stir-Fried Rice (NT$90)

Even though it was past 8 PM, there were still quite a few diners, so K had to wait a bit. Their stir-fried rice is cooked to order, so you never get lukewarm rice. The two plates of stir-fried rice actually looked almost identical XD.

In K’s plate, the char siu only came with egg and tiny bits of barbecued pork.

Meanwhile, E’s had not just char siu, but also squid and shrimp. And interestingly, the prices for the stir-fried rices were the same – the mixed vegetable one had way more ingredients. The stir-fried rice without shrimp paste actually tasted really good. Not only were the grains well-separated, but the slightly firmer yet not overly dry rice was very pleasant. The cooking skill was truly impressive. The aroma of oil, egg, and char siu blended perfectly – it was delicious stir-fried rice.

There was also this slightly salty and spicy doubanjiang (fermented broad bean paste) on the table. Mix a bit of it in, and the whole flavor level goes up another notch. Friends who can handle spice must definitely give it a try. So addictive.

E originally wanted to order clam soup, but it wasn’t available that day, so they switched to clams and mussel soup.

As it turned out, E finished the whole bowl — it must’ve been really good. Plus, there was a little Bread-kun character at the bottom of the bowl. So cute XD.

K ordered oyster soup, which also had a bit of pickled mustard greens added. The soup was pretty good too, and the oysters were nice and plump.

We also added a bowl of stir-fried greens. The stir-fried greens were tasty too. Adding a bit of the doubanjiang gave it not just saltiness and spiciness, but also a touch of sweetness. That doubanjiang is really amazing.

K’s Little Tips: Forgot to ask how much the two bowls of soup and the stir-fried greens cost, but after subtracting the price of the stir-fried rices, those three items totaled NT$150. K thought it was reasonable. Glad K came back for a second visit. Also helped redeem Minsheng Stir-Fried Rice XD. The stir-fried rice is genuinely delicious. Unless you’re a fan of shrimp paste, skip the beef stir-fried rice. Other flavors are all pretty good if you don’t like shrimp paste. Recommended for all stir-fried rice lovers.
