Traveling to Taitung just got more expensive: Paid parking at Fugang Port & entry fees at Forest Park starting March

The cost of traveling to Taitung is going up, to provide better parking and tourism environments,Taitung County Government will implement paid roadside parking at Fugang Port starting February—small vehicles pay NT$10 per half-hour and large vehicles NT$20. Meanwhile, Taitung Forest Park will also begin charging for usage, cleaning, and maintenance fees in sync, officially starting March 1. Full fare is NT$30, half fare NT$20..

Fugang Port in Taitung is a key transit hub for trips to Green Island and Orchid Island. Parking spaces within the port area will begin a trial of roadside parking fees starting February. The charging hours follow the same schedule as urban areas: small vehicles pay NT$10 per half-hour or NT$20 per hour, with charging hours from 9 AM to 9 PM daily. The maximum charge per vehicle per day is NT$150, while fees and caps for large vehicles are doubled.

Taitung Forest Park, which attracts over 700,000 visitors annually, will start charging for usage, cleaning, and maintenance fees from March 1 due to increasing visitor numbers, in line with the “user pays” principle. Taitung County Government stated that no fees will be charged during the promotional period, and fees will be collected daily from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM starting March, with inspection times adjusted seasonally.The fee is NT$30 for full fare and NT$20 for half fare, but Taitung residents can enter for free upon presenting valid ID.
