Where to go during the Lunar New Year? Head to Taitung’s “Iron Flower Village” for a musical extravaganza

Beyond the festive greetings and feasts during the nine-day Lunar New Year holiday, why not treat yourself and your family to a rich musical experience? Starting from the second day of the Lunar New Year, Taitung’s Iron Flower Village will host a series of exciting performances to keep the festive spirit alive.

On the second day of the Lunar New Year (Feb 9), the celebration kicks off joyfully with Malay songs; on the third day (Feb 10), Guo Jichun and Ka’Futur take turns performing, with veteran resident singers and the new generation Amis supergroup delivering an interactive show; on the fourth day (Feb 11), Mo Yan and Bala sing with depth, carrying ancient sounds into a new world; on the fifth day (Feb 12), the best young representatives of tribal folk music, Kualu, Savulu & Laway, make their debut with a wealth of original creations; on the sixth day (Feb 13), it’s the New Year “Totem” gathering, inviting everyone to a family-style reunion at Iron Flower Village’s community feast.

On Feb 18, singer-songwriters Xiao Yu Ban & Zhizhi and Clive, who sing about local life and travel diaries, will keep you company; on Feb 19, singer Gou Mao, who has traveled between both sides of the Taiwan Strait, performs songs about himself, Beijing, and Taipei; on Feb 20, the gradually family-oriented Black Kids bring a concert that shares their new insights on “Love and Life.”

On the evening of Feb 25, “Classic Taitung – Songs of City Names” takes the stage. Songs about Taitung, Taipei, the skies, and hometown Puyuma… What other city name songs are in your heart? On Feb 26, Qiu Liling performs works that document women’s life stories, themed around the Hakka herbal plant “German chamomile”; on the same day, “Big and Small” will once again showcase their deep bond with “layered harmonies,” singing their most beautiful voices; the indigenous supergroup “Oasis & Three Feathers,” together for over a decade, reunites to deliver an energy where one plus one equals Champion. On the last day of the 228 holiday, Paliyulius invites everyone to sit together, with beautiful harmonies and lively rhythms, bringing a brilliant finale to the February holiday.
