Tainan’s Guanziling Hot Springs a Hotspot During Lunar New Year; 81 Bus Trips on 5 Routes Deployed to Prevent Congestion

The Guanziling Hot Springs Scenic Area in Baihe District, Tainan City, is one of Taiwan’s four major hot spring destinations. Nearby attractions include the famous Water-Fire Cave and Biyun Temple, drawing numerous visitors each year for hot spring tourism. The Tainan City Transportation Bureau has been promoting low-carbon travel through its bus light tourism initiative. This year, a total of 81 bus trips on 5 routes will pass through Guanziling. Zhang Zhengyuan, Director of the Tainan Transportation Bureau, recommends that tourists make use of the Greater Tainan Bus system to avoid traffic congestion.

Guanziling Hot Springs is a weak alkaline carbonated spring and also a natural mud spring, known for its therapeutic effects such as relieving fatigue, beautifying skin, and improving chronic gastrointestinal diseases and rheumatoid arthritis. With temperatures around 75 degrees Celsius, it is one of Taiwan’s renowned four major hot springs and one of the best hot spring destinations in southern Taiwan.

In addition to hot springs, the Guanziling Scenic Area features other popular attractions such as Hero’s Slope, Hot Spring Park, Lingding Park, Water-Fire Cave, Biyun Temple, and Daxian Temple. The Tainan Transportation Bureau anticipates a large influx of tourists during the Lunar New Year and has prepared a traffic diversion plan, with six parking lots offering a total of 2,050 parking spaces.

Zhang Zhengyuan pointed out that, in addition to the traffic diversion plan, five bus routes totaling 81 trips—Yellow Line 12, Branch 13, the Guanziling Holiday Bus, Sightseeing Route 66, and Highway Bus 7214—will pass through Guanziling. Among them, the Guanziling Holiday Bus loops around all the scenic spots in the area, allowing tourists to explore the entire Guanziling area by bus alone, making it the best mode of transport for visiting Guanziling.

Getting to Guanziling by Bus
1. At the Xinying Bus Terminal in front of Xinying Railway Station, take the Yellow Trunk Line to Baihe Transfer Station, then transfer to Bus Routes Yellow 12 or 13 to reach Guanziling. From there, transfer to the holiday bus at various attractions to explore all the well-known sites in Guanziling.
2. At the Xinying Bus Terminal in front of Xinying Railway Station, take Sightseeing Route 66, which passes by Wushantou Reservoir Scenic Area, Coffee Highway 175 on Dongshan, and the Guanziling Scenic Area. From various spots in Guanziling, transfer to the holiday bus to explore all the famous attractions.
