The highlight of the year-end calendar, the “New Taipei City Christmasland,” is set to kick off on November 24. Today, the New Taipei City Government also unveiled this year’s event details, along with a sneak peek at the simulated projection mapping visuals. This year not only features upgraded projection technology, but the display area has also expanded to the size of 21 basketball courts. Additionally, a brand-new “Christmas Light Dance” has been added to create stunning visual effects, and the one-time-only tree-lighting ceremony will be accompanied by a flurry of snowflakes, adding a touch of romance to the winter season.

Having been selected by Harper’s Bazaar magazine last year as one of the “19 Most Stunning Christmas Trees in the World,” this year’s main Christmas light show will utilize 48 high-spec projectors, including the first-ever use of intelligent mobile projectors to extend the projection mapping display all the way to Banqiao Station. Not only is the total projection area larger than last year’s, but the moving projection range has also reached 8,794 square meters—equivalent to 21 basketball courts or 1.5 soccer fields. The show also enhances the intricate special effects and sense of grandeur of the main light performance.

Christmas Light Dance

This year’s brand-new “Christmas Light Dance” will premiere at the station plaza. A romantic canopy woven with white and gold hues will descend from the sky, alongside 12 dazzling computer-controlled spotlights in vibrant colors, 8 container market stalls adorned with ornate lighting, an adorable Santa Bear-themed stage, and a dazzling Christmas tree integrated with a spinning reindeer ride. All these elements will flash and dance in harmony with themed music, composing a spectacular Christmas Light Dance.

Pink Christmas Light Ocean

In addition to the main Christmasland area, the Christmas-lit roadside trees around New Taipei City Government and Banqiao Station are also a must-photograph spot each year. This year’s decorations feature romantic sakura pink, dreamy white, and heartwarming orange, creating a more whimsical and lively color scheme.
