This small Hui Cold Noodles spot near Taipei Metro Liuzhangli Station is pretty famous—many netizens recommend it for its generous portions and low prices, so when I’m on a tighter budget, this is where I come XD. Thought I’d grab a nice afternoon bite. Originally wanted cold noodles but the weather was a bit chilly, so I went with beef stir-fried noodles instead, plus a bowl of mixed soup.

Mixed Soup (NT$30)

This might be the cheapest mixed soup in Taipei—a bowl with two meatballs and egg drop, all for just NT$30, while most places charge around NT$50～ The flavor isn’t super strong, but at this price, it’s great, and the meatballs are decent too.

Beef Stir-Fried Noodles (NT$60)

Halfway through, the beef stir-fried noodles arrived—and wow, the portion is insanely huge XD This must be a three-person serving of stir-fried noodles～ The taste is pretty good, though the noodles are a bit overcooked, but the beef is tender and has a good chew to it. Two girls might not even finish this plate XD Adding some chili really amps up the flavor and makes up for the lack of aroma. Eating this in the afternoon was super satisfying～ Originally wanted cold noodles too～ Guess I’ll have to wait for next time XD

K’s Tip: Photos online show big portions, but they still look decent—when you actually see it in person, it’s truly a shock. It’s seriously cheap and super filling～ The taste is okay too. If you’re on a tight budget at the end of the month but still want a hearty meal, you won’t be disappointed here～
