The nation’s only museum with suspended aircraft — view 34 national treasure-grade military planes in one go

Attention plane enthusiasts and military buffs — ever been curious about those mysterious military aircraft? Now you can officially visit a military academy to check them out Up！The “Aviation Education Exhibition Hall” at the Air Force Academy, built with hundreds of millions of investment, has been open to the public on holidays since March. The hall displays many precious historical relics and archives of the Air Force, as well as numerous national treasure-grade military planes, all available for the public to see up close.

The Aviation Education Exhibition Hall is located in the northeast corner of the Air Force Academy campus and has three floors,making it the nation’s only museum with suspended aircraft — 15 planes are displayed on the ground and 19 are suspended from the ceiling, a pioneering move among domestic museums.The hall features 11 exhibition zones including the Aircraft Exhibition Area, the Permanent Aviation Education Exhibition Area, a multimedia theater, educational displays, and educational outreach areas. Among these, the Military Aircraft Exhibition Area showcases aircraft used by Taiwan’s Air Force through different eras.

The Air Force Academy stated that last year it was already open from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM and from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM on Tuesdays to Fridays for organized visits by government agencies, schools, and groups. Starting in March this year, the hall further opens to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM for free self-guided visits without the need for advance application.Photography is allowed inside the hall, but videography, flash photography, and selfie sticks are prohibited.
