The “King Cherry Blossom Tree of Alishan,” which attracts large numbers of visitors every year, has officially entered its full bloom period, with over 80% of its blossoms currently open. From now until the end of March, you can admire the beautiful sight of the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The “King Cherry Blossom Tree of Alishan” is a Somei Yoshino cherry tree transplanted from Yoshino, Japan, by the Japanese in 1918. With nearly a century of age, it is the most picturesque spot for cherry blossom viewing in Alishan. During the Alishan Cherry Blossom Season from March to April each year, various shades of pink cherry blossoms can be seen along the walking trails, as well as the “King Cherry Blossom Tree” in front of the Alishan Work Station. The King Tree reached full bloom on the 21st and is now at its most beautiful. If you want to see Alishan’s Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms, the best viewing period will be through the end of March.
