Water levels too low in dry season ! Water dance show at Lantan Reservoir in Chiayi suspended starting today

According to historical records, the dry season usually falls between late March and mid-to-late May each year, lasting more than two months. The Chiayi City Government stated that to protect the musical fountain equipment from sucking up muddy sediment from the bottom of the reservoir due to excessively low water levels, and to avoid disturbing the sediment which could affect water quality during performances, it has been decidedto suspend the musical fountain shows starting April 1. The restart date will be announced separately once the water level recovers.

To avoid disappointing visitors who come specifically to see the fountain, the Chiayi City Government will print photos of the fountain and distribute them in limited quantities to on-site tourists, while also arranging street performers to give shows at designated spots.
