Kaohsiung will have a new landmark to visit next year！To help visitors learn about the history of Hamasen, a 70-meter-long “longest slide in Taiwan” will be built, giving riders the sensation of sliding into a time tunnel. It is expected to open on the Shoushan slope in 2018.

The Kaohsiung City Government plans to fully restore the historical sites of Hamasen over eight years. The first site is Lane 60, Mountain Street, also the first historical site restoration project in Taiwan. According to the city government’s plan, because the historical restoration site is located on a hillside, they intend to take advantage of the slope to build a slide going downhill. Riders will pass by historical sites such as old trails and air-raid shelters while imagining the perspectives of their ancestors looking down on Kaohsiung, thus experiencing a journey through a historical time tunnel.

This 70-meter-long slide is currently planned to be a roller slide, with an expected opening in the first half of 2018. Once operational, it will replace the current 50-meter-long slide in Hsinchu and become the longest slide in Taiwan.
