The radiant lives in the campsite are like those individual canoes, each journeying gloriously on its own. Future camping trips will be like the dreamy lakeside greenery and vibrant, dancing lights. It turns out that the smiles under the tents in our camping dreams — you and I can have them, again and again, always.

Elevation chart and satellite positioning of Sishacao Canoe House:

Campsite layout of Sishacao Canoe House Camping Area:

Vast lakeside grounds.

Colorful tents with lake views.

Sishacao Green Tunnel is worth a visit.

Many attractions are located near the campsite.

A must-visit canoeing family campsite.

Safety measures at Sishacao Canoe House Campsite are well-implemented (with safety fences and nets both inside and outside). The waters along both sides of the lake are shallow.

Take a stroll through Anping Old Street.

The old street features many costumed characters.

Xiyu Outpost.

Delicious Tainan cuisine.

Such a uniquely experiential campsite — it’d truly be a shame to miss.

Now let’s see how to get to Sishacao Canoe House Camping Area.

On National Highway 1 or 3, please transfer to National Highway 8 and head west.

After exiting National Highway 8, please use the slow lane and prepare to turn right onto Provincial Highway 17B.

Turn right onto Provincial Highway 17B.

At the intersection with Provincial Highway 17, please turn left.

When Provincial Highway 17 meets Honda Road, please turn right (the Da Zhong Miao archway is very recognizable).

After turning onto Honda Road, take the left turn onto Sicao Boulevard (there are Da Zhong Miao road signs along the way — just follow them).

On Sicao Boulevard, when you see Dazhong Road, keep right and stay on the slow lane (you’re close to the campsite now).

It’s about 200 meters ahead — Sishacao Canoe House Camping Area.

Enter through the main gate.

The entrance sign is only at the roadside gate — there are no signs along the way (keep your eyes peeled).

Once inside the gate, the Sishacao Canoe House accommodation and restaurant area is on your right.

Dining area of the restaurant.

Lodge X6.

Resting area in front of the lodge.

Night shot of the restaurant area featuring the Four Grasses Lighthouse.

Beautiful accommodation area of the Four Grasses Boat House Inn.

Even on starless nights in Tainan, the Four Grasses area is still photogenic with scenic views everywhere.

Reflection of the Four Grasses Boat House.

The left side is the parking area; please park in the parking zone.

First, check in and reserve your spot at the camp headquarters made of container units up front.

The current area divisions of the Four Grasses Boat House are simple — let’s start by introducing the innermost part of the campsite (the lakeside inner area).

If your tent isn’t very large, you can pretty much set up anywhere along this whole row.

Shoot outward (this area has the most beautiful and softest grass).

Lakeside view.

Shoot inward toward the camp (to the right is the toilet).

Single toilet X1.

Interior (all equipped with toilet paper).

Sink X1.

There is lighting above the sink.

Lakeside safety facilities, protective netting.

Enlarged image for reference (the grass is a bit yellow in winter).

Now let’s take a look at the vastlakeside area.

Master He still prefers to camp by the lake (even though there’s no water or electricity, it’s not a problem).

The ground in the lakeside area is quite sandy. The downside is that tent stakes need to be longer, but the upside is that water drains away easily.

Towardthe camp headquarters, shoot — only the inner area has sinks (please note).

Multiple sinks.

Power outlets are located next to the sinks.

Waterproof sockets, which are quite safe.

There are very safe canoes available for fun in the campsite—it’s really great!

In the afternoon, fellow campers started to arrive one after another.

We heard it was going to rain this week, so we postponed making a reservation until Friday afternoon. Luckily, camping spots in Tainan aren’t hard to book.

Originally, we were planning to camp at a new site in Miaoli this week, but the campsite informed us of a postponement, XD.

This is the second time the same campsite has postponed our booking. It was delayed from before the New Year until after, and now it's been postponed again.

The more it gets postponed, the more curious I become to check it out. I guess the campsite owners have their reasons!

This week, I set up a new account and chose a Kaotuyong tent.

My wife tried it out and was fairly satisfied (it really improves wind resistance a lot, not to mention the waterproofing).

For the first time, I was advised not to shine a flashlight into the tent (there was someone already sleeping inside). On this point, Master He really needs to give a good explanation.

Since the tents in this area were too bright, I used black cards to block the light for the lower tent area in order to take the photo. The flashlight fill light was used on the trees above.

Sometimes, if there's no ill intent, it's okay to ask questions (usually photographers are happy to answer questions).

This also reminded Master He that for future night shoots, not only should he be quiet, but light can sometimes be disturbing to others too (self-reflection, hey).

When you see a shot you can’t miss through the lens, of course you’ll try everything to capture it—right?(Shooting from above the roof—don’t try this at home, it’s dangerous)

Now, let me introducethe parking area:

This camping zone is quite well-developed.

It’s close to the main camp facilities, bathrooms, and even the parking lot.

The grassy area is a fairly flat small section where 4–5 tents for group camping can be pitched.

There are two sinks (with power outlets nearby as well).

And finally,the main camp area..

Before entering the bathrooms, there is a foot-washing pool.

Men’s bathroom area.

Four shower stalls dedicated for showers.

Clear signage.

Clean toilets, all equipped with toilet paper.

Two urinals for men.

As for the women’s side, just snap a photo of the outside. There are three bathroom stalls.

There are vending machines, which is very convenient.

Actually, the main camp office area is really huge (you can also use the corridor next to it as a sheltered camping space when it rains).

The Wu Gao area has clean cement flooring.

Regular small tents should have no problem fitting in.

There's a sink at the very end X1.

There are also power outlets.

Walk up the stairs to the viewing platform.

The viewing platform has cement flooring (also an option for camping).

In the center of the main camp office area, the space is very large (there are four sinks at the very front).

On the right side, there are clothing lockers.

On the left side, there's a posted camping code of conduct and a grooming counter.

Right next to the camp office area is the canoe dock.

Brand new canoes.

Clean and lightweight paddles that even little ones can handle.

The former aquaculture ponds are used not only for canoeing but also serve another function.

Of course, it's for raising little fish and shrimp—how wonderful is that?!

Two big white shrimps X2 look delicious XD

That's roughly the introduction to Sicao Boat House.

Coming to Tainan, of course you’ve got to go out and explore a bit, right?

It’s been ages since I last strolled around Anping Old Street.

This time I visited and found that it’s changed so much.

The bubble gum I loved playing with as a kid (a fun little experience).

Just wandering around aimlessly, buying and eating whatever.

Snap some photos casually, feeling relaxed and carefree.

Old-time toys.

Playing marbles costs 10 NT per round.

I won a prize.

Alrighty, I’m super happy now.

Found something fun, never seen this before.

Pressing live seafood into cookies—how could you not buy or check this out? LOL.

Check out the process, hey!Anyway, we're already here. Haha!

Wow, everything’s all squashed.

Xixiangfeng can also be pressed and slid, so fun!

Tainan has so much delicious food. After getting a local’s recommendation, we came to this place to try their special oyster omelet.

Wow!The inside is really different too.

Tainan Ancient City, Sword Lion.

The decorations in the snack shop are awesome.

Of course, Up!You have to try the crispy shrimp omelet—the sauce is slightly sweet and really hits the spot.

Oyster omelet (crispy flaky exterior, super fresh oysters—no complaints).

Beautiful color, aroma, and taste—you tell me if it’s not delicious?!

Just happened to catch them right after work (riding a bike on the street dressed like this—won’t scare people? Haha).

The final stop of the old street tour is to buy from this old shop.

What’s going on now, 50 NT for a small pack, everyone’s grabbing them XD (they were gone in no time).

This time I accidentally picked up 15 packs of preserved fruit—perfect for enjoying during camping or hiking later. Just thinking about it makes me want to hike an extra two or three kilometers, lol.

Came to Tainan so of course had to check out nearby spots around the old streets (didn’t go into the paid ones, hey).

This is it, the Outpost Office (it’s free, yay).

Inside it’s all salt, salt, salt—various brightly colored salts.

Each color of salt has its own meaning.

What meanings are shared?

Come visit the Outpost Office and you’ll find out!

The most famous thing in Sicao is undoubtedly the Green Tunnel next to the Da Pu Temple—how could you miss it? Right?

(Just happened to run into the Ironman triathlon event today, the excitement level was super high).

Enter from Dazhong Road opposite the campsite, about 300 meters in you’ll get there.

Before long, we arrived at the Da Pu Temple.

We got here at 7:30 AM—heard that boat tickets start selling at 8:00.

Green Tunnel waiting area (30-minute boat ride)—adults NT$200, children NT$100.

This is the big boat dock for ocean trips (70-minute trip).

Covered boat raft, seats about 50 people—adults NT$200, children NT$100.

Captain’s cabin and tour guide, getting ready to check in.

Today we’re taking a small boat raft to sightsee along the canal.

The first time you try it, it feels quite fresh, fun, and enjoyable.

The feeling of camping varies from family to family.

For me, I focus on outdoor experiences. When I go out, I just love wandering around.

Maybe you’ll encounter some special sensory delights.

The sweet moments of night dew always pass by in a flash.

On a night without stars, sit by the water’s edge and take beautiful night shots.

What about you? How would you describe a night under the stars?

Sometimes, it’s truly a kind of beauty that words can’t describe, isn’t it?

This hidden campsite, Board No. 157—has spring arrived? Next stop, we’re heading south to Nantou.

Tainan is such a wonderful place, definitely worth visiting over and over.
