As Mazu embarks on her pilgrimage, hop on the culture shuttle to explore century-old Mazu temples Up！The “2016 Mazu Culture Shuttle — Mazu on Pilgrimage” will run 25 shuttle bus trips from April 23 to May 29, taking participants to visit 12 century-old Mazu temples across Taichung City and featuring fun traditional folk activities and DIY workshops,with registration open from April 11 to April 12.

The “Mazu Culture Shuttle” is divided into five routes, departing from the Huludun Cultural Center, Gangkou Art Center, Dadun Cultural Center, and Tuen District Arts Center.The 12 century-old Mazu temples on the itinerary include Dajia Tianhou Temple, Taichung Lecheng Temple, Taichung Wanchun Temple, Beitun Nanshing Temple, Nantun Wanhe Temple, Dazhuang Haotian Temple, Wuchi Chaoyuan Temple, Fengyuan Ciji Temple, Shekou Wanxing Temple, Dali GY Fuxing Temple, Dadu Wanxing Temple, and Xinshi Jiuzhuang Mazu.and so on.

In addition, there will be lion dances, festive parades, Northern music performances, as well as fun DIY activities suitable for family outings. This year, shuttle bus transfers are also available from Taichung Railway Station and Taichung HSR Station.Registration runs from April 11 to April 12, with a fee of NT$100 per person and limited to one participation.For more registration details, please visitthe Taichung City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau website.
