Ferries Promote "Blue-Green Hand in Hand" — Triangle Route Connecting Taitung, Orchid Island, and Green Island Launches in May

As temperatures rise, travel to outlying islands is heating up too. A ferry company will soon launch a new triangular route between "Taitung–Orchid Island–Green Island" starting May 1 this year. Travel agencies have also partnered with airlines and ferry companies to introduce the "Lan-Lü Hand in Hand" service, integrating a variety of packaged tours that allow travelers to explore both of Taitung’s maritime gems — Green Island and Orchid Island — in one trip.

Orchid Island and Green Island are two radiant maritime jewels of Taitung County, with their peak tourism season typically beginning around April each year. Hengxing Ferry, operated by Dafa Shipping Co., Ltd., sees strong potential in dual-island tour packages and has decided to launch a scheduled service for the "Taitung–Orchid Island–Green Island Triangle Route" starting May 1, 2016. The ferry has also undergone a major renovation, reducing its passenger capacity from 195 to 154 to provide travelers with more spacious and comfortable seating.

With the addition of the triangular route, independent travel arrangements to Orchid Island and Green Island have become more convenient. Hengxing Ferry has partnered with Mandarin Airlines and EasyFly to launch the "Lan-Lü Hand in Hand" service, enabling tourists to explore both islands in one trip. Package options include those departing from Fugang Harbor in Taitung or Taipei Songshan Airport, as well as transport-only packages without accommodation — covering flights and ferry tickets for as low as NT$5,999 to NT$9,799 per person.
