Everyone may have encountered strange seatmates on flights — some are just quirky and might even make you laugh, but others are truly unbearable.The Huffington Postcompiled a list of 12 things flight attendants wish passengers would stop doing. These behaviors aren’t just disliked by cabin crew — many travelers find them unacceptable, too. Some are downright outrageous. See how many you’re guilty of?

1. Don’t use the cabin wall as a footrest
Many people like to put their feet there — smelly feet are a huge nuisance to those sitting nearby.

2. Go to the toilet wearing only socks
The lavatory is much dirtier than you think.

3. Block the galley door when flight attendants are preparing and serving meals

4. Wait to use the toilet until after boarding instead of going before the flight

5. Ring the call bell excessively

6. Applaud when the plane lands smoothly

7. Eat strongly scented food on the plane

8. Paint your nails or use nail polish remover on the plane
